Police officers are investigating a report of an attempted robbery that occurred on The Drift in Harlaxton between 6:20 pm and 6:50 pm on Wednesday, 27 November.
Two people reported being threatened by three men as they parked in a lay-by near the bridge that runs over the canal on The Drift, between Harlaxton and Barrowby, near Grantham.
Police said:
‘One of the men used a baseball bat to threaten the couple. They had arranged to meet a man after seeing an advert on Facebook for a Fiat motorhome.
‘We are appealing for the occupants of a car that drove along The Drift, causing the three men to flee across the bridge.
‘We are appealing for help to identify the car that drove past the incident and the people who were inside it. We are also appealing for anyone who may have seen anything they think might be connected or any video footage from a dash cam, door camera, or other CCTV recording device.
‘We are asking people to check any footage they have that covers The Drift, which runs from the A607 in Harlaxton and joins Low Road and Rectory Lane where it meets the A52 in Barrowby. We’d also ask people who live in or near Daybrook Close or any of the roads that run off The Drift, Low Road, or Rectory Lane in both Harlaxton and Barrowby to check any available footage from 6:00 pm up until around 7:30 pm on Wednesday, 27 November.
‘Anyone with information that can help is asked to call DC Asher or DC Lacey, quoting 24000707224, on 101 or by email at david.asher@lincs.police.uk.’
