Lincolnshire Police have paid tribute to PD Charlie after his death in retirement.
A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said:
‘It’s with sadness that on the 25th November 2024, retired search dog Charlie passed away, after too short a retirement.
‘Charlie joined Lincs Police Dog Section in June 2012, had over 9 years service as a drugs/cash/firearms search dog, and retired to his handlers family in October 2021.
‘Charlie was a cracking little search dog, and was a joy to handle and work with……Although a bit grumpy in the van, it has to be said.
‘His first operational deployment was the LONDON 2012 OLYMPICS and was the making of him.
‘Rest in peace Charlie….you will be missed.’
