A man who pleaded guilty to nine sexual offences involving a child has been jailed for 13-and-a-half years.
John Bridgewood, of Scredlington, near Sleaford, appeared before officials at Lincoln Crown Court on Friday, 8 November.
The 71-year-old had pleaded guilty to the offences, including rape, and was handed a custodial sentence.
He was also given a sexual harm prevention order.
Detective Constable Stewart Humm condemned the actions of Bridgewood and hopes the sentence will give his victim some form of closure.
He said: “Bridgewood carried out appalling acts which have no place in Lincolnshire or our society at large.
“I hope this result brings some sense of closure for his young victim and acts as a message to anyone who carries out such crimes – we will do everything within our power to bring you to justice.
“I’d like to thank everyone involved in this investigation for their professionalism and determination, as well as the victim for their bravery and cooperation throughout.”
